2014 brings a few changes to the blog. First is my new “Coming up in 2014” series, which has so far proven more popular than I expected! Second is a new section on ‘Views’. This is primarily a review blog, but I’ve also got some views about Canberra that don’t fit within my 140 character limit on Twitter! Herewith is my first ‘view’ – on the Centenary Loop Bus.
Auto Italia 2013
7 Apr
We arrive at in the gardens behind Old Parliament House to find Auto Italia blessed with another day of absolutely gorgeous April weather this year (take a look at last year’s pics). Words can’t really describe the beautiful cars, so I’ll let them speak for themselves (together with some inane commentary!).
(If you enjoy these photos and are looking for more, please check out Richard Tuffin’s fabulous set.)
Enlighten: Members’ Guests Dining Experience
11 Mar
With Enlighten Canberra comes the offer of experiencing dinner at the Members’ Guest Dining Rooms at Parliament House. We figure, at $90 a head, why not? It can’t be worse than our $75 pp experience at Siren Bar.
Seeing Canberra in a whole new light (Enlighten, Questacon and the National Portrait Gallery)
8 Mar
Images projected onto some of Canberra’s buildings in the Parliamentary Triangle? On first description, it sounds a bit dorky or tacky – like a public service version of enormous shadow puppets. However, if you’ve even just had a glance at some of the amazing photos coming out of Enlighten Canberra, more accurate descriptors are ‘amazing’, ‘stunning’, ‘gorgeous’ and – simply – ‘wow’.
