Urban Roast, Belconnen

Since our first visit at Chatterbox we’ve become big fans of Belconnen’s newest and increasingly popular breakfast venue – Boyfriend goes so far to describe it as his local, and the owners and regular waitstaff recognise him. They offer consistent and fast service no matter who you are, or on what day you visit, which is what we enjoy about it. But, we have to branch out, and Boyfriend begrudgingly obliges. Last week we’d spotted Urban Roast on the corner of Cohen and Lathlain Streets with plenty of customers on a Saturday morning, and agreed to seek it out.

It’s December, the days are long, the weather is (finally?) warm (hopefully for good!), and what better way to catch up with friends than to venture down to rejuvenated Kingston?

Brekkie at Seasalt Dining, Bruce

One of our very favourite bloggers had recently been to Seasalt Dining for a Sunday breakfast, so, after countless visits to Ellacure (obviously my benchmark), I reluctantly suggested to Boyfriend that we should try something different and he reluctantly agreed.

On arriving to Seasalt Dining we really weren’t sure if it was open. There were plenty of cars in the carpark, but no one sitting outside. Granted, it was fuhreezing, but the mirrored windows on the restaurant suggested… emptiness. We were pleased to spot an ‘Open’ sign against the door, but disappointed to walk in (and this was about 10am) to see just one other couple there for breakfast. Hm.
